ECO Window Systems Door Installation: The West Park Owner’s Guide

We stock and install ECO Window Systems-compatible door hardware, frames, and full replacement units in West Park, with typical installed pricing from $340 to $1,200 depending on whether we’re replacing a single component or a complete pre-hung assembly. Most ECO Window Systems parts are on our trucks and most installs are completed in a single visit. Homeowners usually call us after noticing the door dragging on the threshold, daylight showing through a frame gap, or the multipoint lock no longer drawing the slab tight against the weatherstrip.

Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems manufactures three door product families relevant to West Park homes: the ECO 6000 Series impact-rated entry systems, the ECO 8000 Series thermally broken patio and sliding door lines, and the ECO 4000 Series non-impact French and single-door assemblies common in interior courtyard installations. The 6000 and 8000 Series use a proprietary multipoint locking mechanism with a 45mm backset and a 92mm center-to-center bolt spacing; the 4000 Series uses a standard 2-3/8″ backset tubular latch that is more readily cross-referenced. You will find the series designation on a laser-etched aluminum tag inside the hinge jamb or, on older units, a printed label under the top hinge cap.

We are an independent service provider with no affiliation to ECO Window Systems. For the 6000 and 8000 Series, we source OEM multipoint gearboxes and keep compatible aftermarket equivalents on the truck; the aftermarket units match the 92mm spacing but use a stainless steel actuator where the original used plated zinc, which is worth the upgrade in South Florida’s salt air. The 4000 Series hardware is largely interchangeable with PGT and CGI residential lines, which simplifies sourcing but also means some West Park suppliers sell mismatched backsets that will not engage the strike properly. We verify backset, handing, and threshold height before ordering anything.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Door Installation Is Failing

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Door Installation Is Failing
  • The slab drags or sticks in the frame. On ECO 8000 Series sliders, this usually means the tandem roller carriage has flattened or the stainless track has bowed from thermal cycling. On hinged units, it points to hinge screw loosening in the composite jamb or seasonal swelling where the factory gap was already tight.
  • Daylight or water at the threshold or jamb corners. ECO’s sill pan and end dam system depends on a continuous bead of sealant beneath the threshold; once that bead separates, water tracks under the finish flooring. In West Park, we see this most on east-facing doors where morning sun drives rapid expansion before the afternoon rain hits.
  • The multipoint lock handle turns but bolts do not retract or extend fully. The ECO 6000 Series gearbox uses a cast zinc rack that strips teeth after roughly 8 to 12 years of daily use in coastal humidity. You will feel the handle spin freely in the last 15 degrees of travel when the rack has failed.
  • Condensation between glass lites on an ECO 8000 Series patio door. This indicates seal failure in the insulated glass unit, not a frame defect. The glass pack is replaceable without removing the entire door, but the sash weight must be matched to the original specification or the roller system will overload.
  • The door closes but does not latch without lifting or shoving. This is often hinge settlement on the jamb side, but on ECO units it can also signal that the composite frame has relaxed its initial bow from installation. We check plumb with a 6-foot level before assuming the door is at fault.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Service Typical Range in West Park
Single-point latch / handle set replacement (4000 Series) $340 - $520
Multipoint lock gearbox replacement (6000/8000 Series) $480 - $720
Threshold / sill pan replacement with sealant $560 - $890
Insulated glass unit replacement (per sash) $620 - $1,050
Complete pre-hung ECO door installation $890 - $1,200

These ranges include the part, labor, removal and responsible disposal of the failed component, and re-sealing to the opening. What drives the spread: whether the jamb is square and plumb (many West Park homes built in the 1960s and 1970s are not), whether the original fasteners were corrosion-resistant (they often were not), and whether we are matching a discontinued color or finish. Our written quote is the measured survey you keep; the final invoice does not differ from that document. Every install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise under the Haven Standard, and we leave a documented photo record of the completed work.

An owner can safely check three things: whether hinge screws are loose (tighten with a manual screwdriver, not a drill, to avoid stripping the composite jamb), whether weatherstrip is visibly torn or detached, and whether the threshold screws have backed out. Do not attempt to remove or adjust a multipoint lock mechanism yourself; the ECO 6000 and 8000 Series store spring tension in the gearbox that releases abruptly if the case is opened without the bolts retracted. We have replaced handles that were broken by homeowners who forced the mechanism after a single bolt had already jammed.

Glass replacement in an ECO 8000 Series sash requires supporting the full weight of the unit while the stop beads are removed; the sash on a standard 6-foot patio door weighs 85 to 110 pounds. Threshold replacement involves cutting sealant bonds that may include structural adhesive; separating these without damaging the subfloor takes heat, patience, and the right blade. If you are not certain which ECO series you have or whether your jamb is plumb, call us. We will read the tag, measure the opening, and give you a written price before any work starts. Measure it right, say what it costs, do the work.
